FC Mobile Beta PlayStyles Ranked for H2H and Gauntlet

Silver vs Gold, 18 originals, and four Limited Beta additions.

PlayStyles Tier List

PlayStyles are unique on-pitch abilities that sit on top of OVR. In the live game you already know 18 of them. The FC Mobile Limited Beta (FC Mobile 27 Beta) adds four more: Incisive Through Pass, Dead Ball, Driven Lob Through, and Slide Tackle. This page ranks all 22 for Head to Head / Division Rivals versus Gauntlet Mode. For the full effect text, keep the PlayStyles guide open. For how to field the right items, use squad building.

Silver is level 1 (base boost). Gold is level 2 (stronger numbers, extra animations, or extra actions). Gold is not a different PlayStyle; it is a louder version of the same identity. A Gold Rapid winger still belongs on the wing. A Silver Anticipate centre-back still belongs in a standing-tackle plan. Do not bench a perfect role player only because the badge is Silver if your Guest pool has no Gold replacement.

How this list is graded

The parent Tier List Hub explains S/A/B. Here we add C.

  • S — fires in almost every match and decides chances or turnovers.
  • A — excellent in the right system or on the right position.
  • B — real, but easy to play around or easy to live without.
  • C — niche. Keep it if a House Rule or set-piece plan needs it.

H2H grades assume you control the player and can trigger the action. Gauntlet grades assume several matches, Traits, House Rules, and limited appearances per player item. Relentless jumps on Gauntlet because fatigue stacks across a round. Penalty Expert stays low unless an objective forces spot kicks.

H2H / Division Rivals table

TierPlayStyles
SRapid, Clinical Finisher, Anticipate, Incisive Through Pass
AFinesse Expert, Tiki Taka, Bruiser, Accelerator, Slide Tackle, Driven Lob Through, Dead Ball, Bullet Pass
BTrickster, Guardian, Relentless, Power Shot, Whipped Cross, Deflector
CPenalty Expert, Chip Shot, Precision Header, Rush Out

Rapid remains the clearest attacker identity. Gold Rapid adds knock-on control, so wing take-ons survive contact. Clinical Finisher is the most honest shooting trait for box work; it boosts regular shots you already take. Anticipate is the defensive mirror: standing tackle range, speed, and the ball sticking at their feet. Gold Anticipate also raises stumble chance, which is why it stays S even when you are not slide-tackling.

Incisive Through Pass is the best of the four Limited Beta additions for H2H. Official notes: through balls with improved target selection and greater lead distance. In a Guest club that cannot buy a stacked attack, that extra lead is the difference between a Rapid striker arriving and a defender recovering. Pair it with a runner who has Accelerator or Rapid so the lead is not wasted.

Slide Tackle is A, not S, in open H2H. Official notes: increased slide-tackle range and faster tackle animations. It is lethal on a centre-back who already times challenges, and sloppy on a full-back who panics. Gold Slide Tackle does not replace Anticipate; it covers a different tackle type. Build one CB on Anticipate and one on Slide Tackle if your pool allows it.

Driven Lob Through and Dead Ball sit in A because they win specific phases. Driven Lob Through (lobbed through balls with improved curve, control, and lead) unlocks balls over a high line when you switch to an Ultra Attacking Game Plan. Dead Ball (free kicks with extra curl, pace, dip, and control) is a specialist. If your CAM never stands over a dead ball, it is a wasted badge; if they do, it is a match-winner.

Gauntlet table

TierPlayStyles
SRelentless, Anticipate, Rapid, Clinical Finisher
ABruiser, Tiki Taka, Incisive Through Pass, Accelerator, Slide Tackle, Guardian
BDead Ball, Driven Lob Through, Finesse Expert, Whipped Cross, Precision Header, Bullet Pass
CPenalty Expert, Chip Shot, Rush Out, Trickster, Deflector

Gauntlet rounds are a series of matches with objectives, Traits, and House Rules. You progress by winning and earning Stars. Because each player item has limited appearances, depth beats peak. Relentless (reduced fatigue; Gold also recovers more stamina at half-time) becomes S because your second-choice attackers must still run. Anticipate and Rapid stay S because they work even on lower-OVR replacements. Trickster drops to C: skill-move speed is less reliable when House Rules change dribble feel and when you are rotating unpractised items.

If a round’s House Rule emphasises set pieces, promote Dead Ball and Precision Header for that round only. If a Trait punishes slides, demote Slide Tackle and lean on Guardian (hard tackles) or Anticipate. Do not freeze this table; freeze the method. The Gauntlet Mode guide covers appearance limits in more detail.

Silver vs Gold without overpaying attention

From EA’s PlayStyles deep dive, Gold is an upgrade path on the same name:

  • Finishing Golds add speed, lower elevation (Power Shot), or a penalty target dot (Penalty Expert).
  • Passing Golds add extra pass types (Tiki Taka Gold includes dinked passes) or more curve (Whipped Cross).
  • Rapid Gold adds knock-ons and closer control; Trickster Gold is simply faster skill moves with the ball glued.
  • Anticipate / Guardian Golds add stumble chance.
  • Relentless Gold adds half-time recovery; Bruiser Gold is a larger strength bump.
  • Keeper Golds push safer, faster deflections (Deflector) or better auto tackles on the rush (Rush Out).

In the Limited Beta you cannot spend money to force Golds. In-game purchases are disabled and there are no rewarded ads. Draft the Gold if you have it; do not stall a Guest squad waiting for one. A Silver Clinical Finisher on a natural striker still outranks a Gold Penalty Expert on a player who never takes penalties.

Position cheat sheet

Use this as a filter before you open the Formations tier list:

  • ST — Clinical Finisher, Finesse Expert, Rapid, Power Shot. Chip Shot only if you face rushing keepers.
  • Wingers — Rapid, Trickster, Accelerator, Whipped Cross, Finesse Expert.
  • CAM / CM — Incisive Through Pass, Tiki Taka, Bullet Pass, Driven Lob Through, Dead Ball.
  • CDM / CB — Anticipate, Slide Tackle, Bruiser, Guardian.
  • FB — Accelerator, Relentless, Anticipate, Whipped Cross.
  • GK — Deflector first; Rush Out only if you play a high line and accept the risk.

Original 18 versus the four new names

Keep the catalogue straight so you do not mix live-game rumours into beta notes.

Original 18 (Silver/Gold): Finesse Expert, Clinical Finisher, Power Shot, Penalty Expert, Chip Shot, Tiki Taka, Bullet Pass, Whipped Cross, Rapid, Trickster, Anticipate, Guardian, Accelerator, Relentless, Bruiser, Precision Header, Deflector, Rush Out.

Limited Beta four: Incisive Through Pass, Dead Ball, Driven Lob Through, Slide Tackle.

That is the official split from EA’s Limited Beta article. Anything else you see on a tracker may be console naming or an older leak. This list only grades those 22.

Building around a rank, not chasing every badge

Pick one attacking identity and one defensive identity for your primary H2H Game Plan. Example: Rapid + Clinical Finisher in attack, Anticipate + Bruiser in defence, Incisive Through Pass on the passer who starts moves. Then duplicate that identity on different items for Gauntlet. If your only Rapid player is exhausted or locked out by appearances, the S-tier grade did not fail — your depth did.

Switching formations mid-match with Game Plans can raise a B-tier PlayStyle for ten minutes. Dead Ball becomes A when you foul-hunt after going a goal down. Slide Tackle becomes S when you park a Defensive 5-4-1 and only need to stop counters. Rank the PlayStyle for its default job, then break the rule on purpose. The Game Plans guide is the right place to script those breaks.

Guest progress does not carry over. The point of ranking PlayStyles in this window is to learn which identities you want on a live club later, not to hoard items. If a Gold Rapid winger feels unfair in Rivals, write that down. If Driven Lob Through never connects with your touch, drop it before 13 September 2026 and spend the remaining matches on Tiki Taka instead.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers testers actually search for.

What is the difference between Silver and Gold PlayStyles?

Silver is level 1, the base boost. Gold is level 2 with stronger effects and sometimes extra actions, such as Tiki Taka Gold covering dinked passes. Same identity, louder numbers. See the PlayStyles guide for per-trait text.

Which of the four new PlayStyles is the best in H2H?

Incisive Through Pass is the default S-tier addition because through balls happen constantly. Slide Tackle, Driven Lob Through, and Dead Ball are A-tier specialists. Rank them next to your formation on the Formations tier list.

Why does Relentless jump to S in Gauntlet?

Gauntlet rounds string matches together and limit appearances, so fatigue on replacement items matters. Relentless cuts stamina loss; Gold also recovers more at half-time. Read Gauntlet Mode before you lock a one-star XI.

Should I always start Gold PlayStyle players?

Start the Gold when the role matches. A Silver Clinical Finisher on a striker still beats a Gold Penalty Expert on a midfielder. Guest squads cannot buy upgrades, so role fit beats badge colour. Details are in squad building.

Do these ranks apply to the live FC Mobile club?

Use them as a preview, not a live-market bible. The Limited Beta is a standalone Guest app. Live codes and Rank Up Tokens do not change beta PlayStyles. Keep live rewards on the codes hub and this page for the test window.
